After a 5 hour delay in Atlanta, and after a 2000 hour flight, we arrived in Tokyo at around 7:00 pm.

The famous ‘Shibuya Scramble Square’ which features prominently in Netflix’s Midnight Diner opening credits, and countless YouTube videos on traveling Japan.

Hundreds and hundreds of people, many of whom are tourists like me, wait to cross on five zebra crossings connecting this intersection ten different ways.

It’s hard to tell whether the popularity of Scramble Square is owed to people wanting to see what it’s all about or because it’s just in the middle of a very populated city.
