new life for an old phone

Last year before my trip to Japan, I inherited a new-to-me iPhone. My old iPhone ended up languishing on a bookshelf waiting for a new lease on life.

About two weeks ago, my mom gave me two hyacinth bulbs growing in water. They were both little but each had two clusters of light green buds which looked a little like the tip of an asparagus – magnified.

I’m sure you can guess what came next.

With the iPhone mounted on a tripod and plugged into a charger, I just let it run. About fifty-seven hours later, this is what I saw….and I can’t stop watching it.

Enjoy!

and then the house was filled with the loveliest of scents….

Next time-lapse project….shadows. 🙂

I enjoyed watching your video, several times. Your title is perfect for the situation. It’s amazing to me how much occurred in such a short time period, and that short time made all the difference.

I keep this on a browser tab so I can watch it again every day. 🙂

Would be fascinating, but too complicated, to do this with a human sitting or standing in the same frame… a blooming human.

(one image per week = 52 images per year x 50 years = 2,600 images. At 15 images per second a 50 year life would be a three minute video…)

Wow- that your brain works like that is incredible!

It’s not only about the way it was captured, but also what was captured.

    WOW!

It’s so beautiful. I’ve watched it several times.

What I can’t get over is how nature happens right there in front of us all the time and we never notice.

Slow purposeful movements of the opening. Just obeying the law of what it was meant to do and be.

It took a camera to show us the wonder of a flower birthing itself into a burst of color and light and shape and symmetry and scent.
All to delight itself and us.

A short life of splendor. But so beautiful.
I think the play of light and shade enhanced the video.
    Thanks Lisi, for sharing.
