She stared at the open drawer, her mind crashing to a standstill. Just moments before, she’d closed the drawer. Should she back out of the room? Shove the drawer close again? Stupidly, she wondered if the drawer was angled in such a way that it kept falling open. That was a rational reason; she’d hold onto it. It had to be the way the drawer was built.

Well, if you live in a house like ours, the drawers fall open and round objects roll across the floor because the whole house is crooked.
